Experience
I have over 20 years of teaching experience in the Missouri school system and more than 7 years tutoring online. I am in retirement, but my passion for tutoring remains strong and I enjoy teaching a wide age range of students. I have a undergraduate degree in Education from Missouri State University and a Master of Arts in School Counseling from Lincoln University. My greatest joy comes from working with my students to help them achieve their learning goals and maximize their potential. Effective learning starts with a personalized approach geared to the interests, capabilities, and preferred learning style of each student. I believe my techniques have been a success at every age level and more importantly, I believe my students will tell you that they enjoyed the experience. My greatest reward comes from giving my students the tools to build and master a strong learning foundation. I am able to tutor Elementary Math, Reading, Writing, Phonics, Grammar and Mechanics, Study Skills and Organization, Special Education, English, and Homework Support. I also tutor test preparation for the HSPT, ISEE, and SSAT. When I'm not tutoring I like to read, write short stories, and try out new recipes in the kitchen.
